Worship Ministry

Worship at FBC Martin is a joyous, musically-diverse experience using a variety of instruments and styles where our focus is on God, the Audience of One. Our goal is to experience the unmistakable glory of God in our worship. Through singing, scripture, teaching, praying, and giving, we desire that every person leave the worship center having connected with God and having been challenged by His Word. I hope you will join us as we exalt our Savior together!

If you would like to get involved in our worship ministry in any of the areas listed below,

please call the Church Office at 731-587-9555 or by emailing Ron Graves.

corporate worship

At FBC Martin, we believe it's God's desire that all people know and worship Him. Our corporate worship is the pinnacle of all we do. As we seek to offer praise to Him, we proclaim that He is holy. We believe He is worthy of our praise. He is worthy or our worship.

What is Worship?

Worship is not music. It's not genre or style, blended or contemporary. It's not about tradition or religious ritual. It's not about feeling or emotion, or what we can get out of it for our own benefit. It's not something that we do on occasion, once a week, or simply at Easter or Christmas time.

Worship is, however, a lifestyle. It's something that we do every day of our lives. Romans 12: 1 says, "And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him."

Corporate Worship at FBC Martin is our adoration of God as we gather together in one accord. It's our response to God for who He is and all that He has done for us through Jesus Christ. It's a special time of gathering together as the Body of Christ to proclaim His greatness through our praise and to hear His voice speak to us through the proclamation of His Word.

Please feel free to visit with us anytime. Come and be our very, special guest. We want you to know that you are somebody special at FBC Martin... come and see!

adult choir

The Adult Choir is a primary worship leading group in our church. Each week we rehearse in order to effectively lead others in worship using vocal and instrumental music as a tool. If you have a desire to help lead in praise and worship, then join the First Baptist Choir. Our adult choir sings in the 9:30am worship service on Sundays. We also sing for special services and musicals throughout the year. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the choir room.

ORCHESTRA/PRAISE BAND

The Instrumental Music Ministry provides an exciting outlet for instrumentalists to use their talents in worship to God. Being involved in the Orchestra or Praise Band will challenge you musically, but most importantly, you will be challenged spiritually and you will be blessed as you bless others. The most important requirement to join any of the instrumental groups is that you have a heart willing to serve others. Through the combined sounds of singing and playing, worshipers are led to the throne of God. If you are in eighth grade or older, we would love to have you audition to be a part of our ministry.

media team

Our Media Team is extremely important to our Sunday worship services, our special events, and our week to week ministries. If you are gifted technically and have a servant’s heart, we would love for you to be a part of this team. We need volunteers to assist in the following areas:

  • Sound system engineer
  • Lighting
  • ProPresenter & Pro Content operator (slides/screens)
  • Camera operator
  • Photographer
  • Live stream
  • Tech Setup and Tear Down

drama

Drama is used occasionally during Christmas, Easter, July 4th, worship services, and other presentations. If you are looking to be a “star”, this is not the place of involvement for you. However, if you are interested in using your talent of acting, stage construction, prop development and build-out, building/construction skills, or set/scenery design to communicate God’s love, then this will be a great ministry for you.
