The Women's Missionary Union (W.M.U.) is the foundation of missions emphasis and education at FBC Martin.
We have circles to recognize several missionaries and faithful women of the Bible. We support the children's mission organizations at FBC. We also promote several mission offerings at Martin as well as Franklin Graham's Operation Christmas Child Project.
The W.M.U. Permanent Watchword is "We Are Laborers together with Christ," and the 2016-2017 Watchword is "I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do this for the sake of the gospel, that I might share in its blessings." 1 Corinthians 9:22b-23
Martha's Ministry of First Baptist Church is a service provided for the families of recently lost church members or regular attendees.
On the day of a funeral, the ladies of Martha's Ministry serve by providing the complete preparation of the main dinner for a family and their guests, either before or after the funeral service. The meal is served in the Fellowship Hall.
All of the ladies involved are blessed as they reach out in love and kindness to those families who are hurting. God wants us to share in the sorrows of others. Martha's Ministry allows us to enter into the sorrows of others who are grieving.
"but through love serve one another." - Galatians 5:13
